Baxenden & District Golf Club

The club was originally founded by a group of local businessman Meeting at the Hargreaves Arms Public House, Accrington. The first Annual General Meeting, for members and intending members was held on 3rd February 1913 in the Don Café Blackburn Road Accrington.

The first clubhouse was Gallow Hall Farm, a quarter of a mile from its current location. The current clubhouse was purchased for £1,320 in 1926 and the ‘new’ course opened in 1928.

Set in rolling hillside on the Hyndburn- Rossendale boundary, Baxenden boasts a 9 hole course to be proud of. It offers a challenge to golfers of all abilities and is an excellent choice for parties or single golfer alike. The competition length is 5734 yards, SSS 68, with a par of 70 .

From the outer reaches of the course there are splendid panoramic views of the Ribble Estuary and the Pennine Hills of Ingleborough and Pendle.
